Velvet Revolver

Well I had heard a lot about these guys and vaguely remembered some
details, and one day I turned my radio after having listened to Kevin
and Bean on KROQ earlier that morning, and I caught a RIGHTEOUS, face
melting guitar riff and solo. When I found out later that it was VR, it
made total sense, the guitarist after all, is Slash.

Long story short, bought the album, enjoyed the first couple listens.
Like I said, there are sweeeeet guitar riffs and solo’s but all in all
the album is lyrically trite, compositionally retarded, repetitive and
poorly sung (not one for the Metallica-style vocals myself).

But goddam that Slash can make his guit wail!

I used to think the camera on my Sidekick was good. As it turns out, one of two things is possible; either I was wrong or texas is pink.
Anyways, those photo’s are from top to bottom,

Picture 1: A bridge game that lasted until 1:30am (from left to right - Peter, Hodgy, James, Paul, Steve and my knee),
Picture 2: The coolest grandpa ever (sorry it’s sideways), we put my cousins glasses on my grandpa and this is the result.
Picture 3: I picture I accidentally took of me and my brothers’ feet. I know foot photo’s are very “look I’m being a hip photographer”, but oh well.
Picture 4: Picture of the church my cousin got married in…very big…
Picture 5: Me and my hippy brother. Two pretty handsome guys if I do say so myself.
Picture 6: Texas.

I like it there, it’s different but similar. I guess that’s like a lot of places in the U.S. though.

I have an anus load of stuff to do today. I have to fill out the employment paperwork for my internship, go take a drug screening test, have a phone interview, post my resume online, get the manual for getting my CCNA, figure out why I’m only registered for 3 classes this coming semester, change my address, do laundry and hopefully have time for some WoW. We’ll see.

I’m starting to dislike being this close to my parents again, I think there is going to start being some relational strife pretty soon, but that is to be expected.

Yesterday, I went to the wedding of my best friend’s brother. It was so good to see my friend Nic and his wife of 8 months, Emmy. The last time I saw them was at their wedding in West Virginia. His brother Ben’s wedding couldn’t have been any more different from his. Ben’s was so awesomely hip and cool and Nic’s was so awesomely Godly and spirit-filled. Talk about both ends of the spectrum. All in all, I had a hell of a time…at both…but I was jus then referring to Ben’s. Anyways, his new wife, Heather, is really cool - she’s the queen of pasadena, after all.

And at the wedding I got to meet one of my favorite musical artists, Josh Pinkston of Remember August and more recently Jefferson Street. It was cool and I didn’t want to be too fan-ish, especially since he’s not big or anything, but I really love his music and I wanted to express that, I think I did a good job of that and it was nothing like Guy Patterson meeting Del Paxton in “That Thing you Do” ie, “But, I listen to your records and I think you’re great. (takes a breath) You are my biggest fan!”

Bah, I have no money…I have negative money…
But, I got the internship! So I will be able to pay off those I owe, which is good because I know that Dave has a penchant for smacking debtors in the knee’s with baseball bats and lets just say that Johnny Dutch’s other nickname is the Flying Windmill.

I tried out the Battlegrounds in WoW last night. Hella fun. I really enjoyed it especially since Kephale is level 49 and therefor the highest level in his bracket for the Warsong Gulch. I was kickin butt. Over 100 honorable kills and I returned the flag several times. I am definately thinking about respec’ing my talent tree for PvP.
We’ll see.

Gotta go, tech support needs me. I’m installing a nice color photo printer for my ‘rents.

That’s my sister and her perfect baby boy, Ethan Gabriel. That’s first and middle name not first and last. Trying to save her privacy. You can tell that’s a forced smile, but hey…you try forcing a 9 pound 6 ounce baby out of a hole of yours…I’ll even let you pick the hole. God he’s cute. Posted by Hello
